On Monday 27 March during periods 3, 4, and 5 our Senior Students will listen to a presentation in the PAC from the sexual harm prevention charity Brave.

The founder Jess Tyson (Whakaata Māori TV journalist, former Miss World NZ, and Celebrity Island contestant) and Brave ambassador Georgia Waddington (current Miss NZ contestant) will deliver a presentation to students about sexual harm and healthy relationships.

They will cover topics such as what is sexual violence; consent; safety online; image-based abuse (revenge porn), porn, how to help others and how to find help.

Jess will also share her personal journey of overcoming being a victim of sexual harm. While the presentation will be delivered in a positive and educational way, some students may find the topics discussed distressing or triggering.

All senior students have been emailed about this presentation however if you feel that this topic may be triggering for your young person please email Head of Counselling, Julia Field, (fdj@cghs.school.nz) and we can arrange an alternative place for them to go during the period.

If you would like to find out more about Brave you can do so by going to their Website, Facebook, or Instagram pages.
