NZ Cleans Up In The Trans-Tasman Squash Competition

Caitlin Millard —

On Sunday the 18th, Petra Curd-McCullough and Caitlin Millard travelled to Tauranga to represent New Zealand in the Secondary Schools Squash Trans-Tasman Competition.

The teams were made up of 5 junior girls, 5 junior boys, 5 senior girls and 5 senior boys. We all played 10 matches over 5 days.

The singles comp was held over the first three days, where we each played three of the top five players from Queensland and New South Wales. On Thursday, Petra and I were partners in the Doubles Comp, which was a new competition this year, winning both games. That night, Queensland and New South Wales named their final Australia test team, who competed for the title against New Zealand on Friday.

New Zealand won all of the competitions, that is the singles shield, doubles trophy and the overall Trans-Tasman Cup!
