Basketball is a winter sport and is played in Terms 2 and 3.

Year 9’s are coached by senior students and mostly play at 4pm every Friday. Intermediate and senior teams also play on Friday nights between 5pm and 9pm at various schools and stadiums around Christchurch. There is a cost of $40 to play basketball for the season.

The senior A team has been very successful over the past 10 years, winning the National Secondary Schools’ title twice.

As with all sports we rely on parents to help with the basketball programme by managing a team or if you have experience in this area coaching or refereeing.
