Attendance

CGHS Publications —

Regular attendance is essential for learning and achievement. Attendance is checked every period and recorded in the school’s attendance system.

  • If a student believes an error has been made, they must speak to their Ako teacher or Dean promptly.

  • If a student is late to school, they must follow the correct procedure for lateness and sign in (See Lateness).

  • If a student is unwell at school, they must follow the correct procedure which includes getting permission from the teacher, if in class to leave and go to the student desk at the school office. Parents will be contacted by school staff, not by the student. (See Sickness and Injury).

Extracurricular Activities:
To participate in extracurricular activities and represent the school (e.g. school formals, sports teams, productions), the expectation is that students must maintain a minimum of 80% attendance. Exceptions will be considered for justified reasons. Ideally students should be aiming for regular attendance which is above 90%.
