The main sewer pipe running the length of Matai Street is in dire need of replacement and the Christchurch City Council is to undertake replacement work between Labour Weekend and the start of NZQA exams (27/10/20 – 14/11/20).

• These works require an official road closure to vehicles and the cycleway between Darvel Street and Deans Ave – the footpath on both sides will still be open.
• During the latter part of the construction the road closure will extend to include the Matai-Darvel Street intersection. Darvel & Matai Streets will become dead end and the area marked Closure Area 2 will become restricted access for residents only.
• There is still access to the main entrance of the school via turning left from Deans Ave into Matai Street. Access to the school via this path will be restricted to staff, emergency vehicles, deliveries and urgent student pick up (Medical etc).
• For those that travel to school via Harper Avenue please be aware that it is not possible to U-turn at the Kilmarnock Street/Deans Avenue intersection.
• During construction Matai Street by the tennis courts will be a no stopping zone.
• All student drop off and pick up is to occur in the bus park area down by the tennis courts or preferably the other side of the railway lines.
