2019 has been both challenging and rewarding for all the houses and I feel utterly honoured to have led Rolleston House through this.

Those in Rolleston House possess a great deal of enthusiasm and commitment; something that has shone through all year. 

The first event that saw girls stand around in blue was Athletics Day. This event occurred on a fantastic sunny day and the Rolleston chant echoed through Nga Puna Wai - a moment I'm forever proud of. The blue lollipops and ribbon were distributed lovingly and by the end of the day, our tent was filled with girls from all houses. This is how Athletics Day should be. 

The next event, Cross Country, lacked the sunshine but not commitment! Rolleston House had a stellar turnout and many lost their voices as we chanted through Hagley Park. 

To show their support and go the extra mile, Rolleston was the only house this year to support Swimming Sports and decorate an area just for those in blue. Lollies were given and blue floaties found their way into races. A highlight for a smaller event for sure! 

Soon enough Lip-Sync rolled around and boy oh boy was it eventful! We performed under the theme of ‘Queen with a twist’. Freddie Mercury and Queen Elizabeth, along with the assorted royals, took to the stage to convey all things royal! A fantastic group of girls allowed for the show to run as smoothly as it did and the committee did so well with organisation and commitment!  

The role of leading Rolleston House is a role I am beyond grateful for. I was able to form a family of girls for all year groups, whilst gaining a family of leaders of my own. I have a great deal of pride in the house and all it has offered me, and I hope I have offered that back to the fantastic group of girls I've had the pleasure of leading.

The support that staff offered, in particular, Mrs Peawini, was beyond helpful and at times the only thing to pull the House Prefects through. How lucky and thankful I am for such a lovely year. A true testament to those around me and all those involved in the house.
