Gaudeamus
Gaudeamus Igitur is a traditional anthem sung at prizegiving to honour the Year 13 students as they exit the school. One day you will leave our kura to the sound of this tune. The title translates from Latin as: “Let us therefore rejoice”.
The lyrics are:
Gaudeamus igitur, iuvenes dum sumus; Gaudeamus igitur, iuvenes dum sumus;
Post iucundam iuventutem, post molestam senectutem,
Nos habebit humus, nos habebit humus.
Vivat academia, vivant professores. Vivat academia, vivant professores,
Vivat membrum quodlibet. Vivant membra quaelibet.
Semper sint in flore! Semper sint in flore!
