Alastair Blyth — Feb 26, 2020

On Friday 21st February, a group of eight Year 13 Economics students were invited along to the Reserve Bank luncheon hosted by the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce.

The Governor of the Reserve Bank, Adrian Orr, spoke about monetary policy in 2020 and answered questions about the future of cash, cryptocurrency, and the potential impact of the coronavirus on our economy. The Year 13 students engaged with Orr’s speech and each other, as conversations were sparked relating to the NZ economy.

The luncheon was an excellent educational experience and a privilege to attend.
