Please read and complete the form below. Year 9 parents who may already have completed a form in the Welcome Pack, are also requested to complete this form which contains extra information.
Digital technology continues to provide opportunities to learn and connect our school community. Christchurch Girls’ High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora believes in using a Digital Citizenship model to support safe, responsible and ethical use of digital technology so that our online environment is a positive place for everyone.
A good digital citizen is someone who:
● is a confident and capable user of ICT
● will use ICT for learning as well as other appropriate activities
● will always use ICT to communicate with others in positive ways
● will be honest and fair in all of their actions using ICT
● will always respect people’s privacy and freedom of speech online
● will help others to become a better digital citizen.
It is because we know this is important for us all that we ask everyone, the staff, students, and guests working at the school to agree to use the internet and other technologies in a safe and responsible way by following the rules laid out in a Responsible Use Agreement.
If someone cannot agree to act responsibly, or the things that they do mean that other people are being harmed, then we may prevent them from using the internet or other technology at school. The school site includes Acland House and Bealey Crag.
We use G Suite for Education and Microsoft 365, education productivity tools used by tens of millions of students and teachers around the world. Students will use G Suite and Microsoft products to complete assignments, communicate with their teachers and learn 21st century digital citizenship skills
Please read the Responsible User Agreement with your student.
Please complete this form with your student. Students are required to accept their responsibilities as users of the school internet and parents/guardians are required to give permission for students to use Google and Microsoft educational tools.
