Kaitlyn Tinworth — Jun 19, 2019

Come along next Wednesday 26th June to the Year 12 Drama production evening. Our students have been rehearsing all term to present two shows that deal with relatable issues for a teenage audience.

The first production, The Blame Game, directed by Kaitlyn Tinworth will be performed at 4:30pm. Twisted, directed by Brent Burney, will be performed at 6pm. Each play has a running time of 1 hour.

Please arrive 10 minutes before the performance time. No babies or small children as this is being filmed for NCEA.

Below is a small synopsis of each play:

The Blame Game by Laura Officer

It is a typical Saturday night and a group of young friends are preparing to go out and party. The play follows both the friends and their parents as they enjoy an evening together, whilst reflecting on the role alcohol plays in their social lives. Ultimately the play ends in a drink driving tragedy and the audience are asked, who is to blame for the deaths of the three teenagers? The driver? The parents? Or our attitude towards alcohol?

Twisted by Andrew and Poppy Peters

Gretel Ashwell is in a coma. She had been at a party, but there was no evidence that she was drinking. Her family seem concerned. Her friends seem concerned. The only people not concerned are the school bully Maddy and her vile crew. The play delves more closely into these three groups - all is not as it first appears.
