As part of our Making a Difference Unit in English this term the girls from 9 Kauri recently put together personalised welcome packs for the new refugee families coming into Christchurch.

As a result of their wonderful work, on Wednesday 28th August, they were invited to Christchurch Airport by The New Zealand Red Cross to welcome in one of the new families from Syria.

The girls held a welcome sign and sang 'Te Aroha' and 'Haere mai ra' as the family entered arrivals. It was a heart-warming moment from our compassionate, change-making girls.
