On Thursday 5th July we held a full school Pōwhiri with the support of Ngāi Tahu to welcome Christine O’Neill to our school. Mrs O’Neill took up her position of Principal in Term 3.

The Pōwhiri was on opportunity to bring together Mrs O’Neill’s whānau and previous kura, St Thomas of Canterbury College, and welcome them to our Christchurch Girls' High School / Te Kura o Hine Wairoa whānau.

During the Pōwhiri, Mrs O’Neill was presented with a kahu huruhuru (feather cloak) that she can wear during her time as our Principal.
