The South Island school cycling event was held over the first weekend of the school holidays. This year CGHS had 8 riders entered in the event all representing Girls’ High and competing to a high standard.

They competed in an individual time trial, a team time trial and a road race in Timaru.

Congratulations to Amye Kellow who came away with a gold in the U15 individual time trial, Olivia Kikstra who gained a silver medal in the U17 individual time trial and Danielle McLaughlin who came home with a bronze medal in the U17 road race. All the girls competed in the team trials with the A team, Meg Barnes, Olivia Kikstra, Amye Kellow and Caitlin Titheridge receiving the gold medal. The B team also gained 6th place in the U20 team trial with Pixie Cockerill, Danielle McLaughlin, Caitlin Jamieson and Harriet Rowse.

Altogether all riders competed to their best ability and had a very successful weekend.
