Native Planting Opportunity This Sunday - Interested?

Allan Meredith, HoD Geography —

Our school has recently joined a network of 12 schools across Christchurch called Eco Action.

The goal is to create a green spine of native forest along the Avon-Otakaro river, starting with the Red Zone, that will support and encourage native bird life. Each school has their own native plant nursery and over winter these are planted out.

The next event is this Sunday, the 26th July 10-12 noon and will take place at 28 Chimera Crescent, where they are looking to plant 1700 plants. It is very efficiently organised and pretty easy work. If you would like to come and join us you are very welcome. Feel free to bring family members, as it's a community event with lots of ages represented. Bring a spade if you can and appropriate footwear as the ground is a bit damp. Just look for the CGHS flag on the day.
