The Christchurch Girls’ High School Board of Trustees is delighted to announce the appointment of Christine O’Neill as new Principal, taking up the role in Term 3.

The Senior Alison Harper Competition was held at the end of Term 1. Students performed monologues from Shakespeare's plays and from a text they received on the day of competition.

On Tuesday 7th May there will be an information evening held for parents in the Performing Arts Centre from 6pm about the National Certificate in Educational Achievement (NCEA) as a qualification and the expectations on students. Parents with students in Years 11 - 13 are welcome to attend along with their daughters. The presentation will take approximately 30 minutes.

The Reader's Cup is a competition open to teams of Year 9 students. They read five given texts and then face a barrage of tricky questions - the reading equivalent of Sports Day.

Seats for the Acting Principal's address are fully booked however you are still warmly invited to visit the school for a guided tour any time between 10am and 1.30pm.

Current student Georgie Baddeley (Year 13 Printmaking) and past student Anita Chen (Year 13 Painting 2018) will be exhibiting in the Creators' Room.

Our inter school surfing team have come a creditable third in the Wednesday Canterbury Scholastic Competition that is held each week at the Brighton pier.
