Today’s communication is short and sweet as it is a very busy last day after a tumultuous term with another lockdown and the sad loss of our colleague Pauline Grogan-Henderson.

The library became a scary place for a week. Bats, spiders, cobwebs and ghosts adorned the Haunted House as our ‘horrible’ collection went on show. Weeks of work by our team of 89 student librarians gave the whole room a great vibe.

Shoe Clinic Riccarton Director, Shaun Farrell, visited school on Wednesday to present the benefits from the Shoe Clinic Rewards scheme to Assistant Principal, Laura-Jean Peawini.

The annual Christchurch Girls' High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora Junior Speech Competition was held on Thursday 23 September and we were thrilled to have a wide range of speeches.

On Sunday 26 September, 3 duathletes took to the streets of Southbridge to represent our school in the Canterbury Secondary School Duathlon Championships.

The Senior Speech Competition was held on the 5th of August this year. We had a wide range of engaging speeches from students in Years 11 to 13.

Addison Ransfield, Year 9, was chosen out of 60 entries to be perform in the Top 20 finalists Y factor 2021 Christchurch Talent Quest show on Saturday night, 25 September 2021.

Our School app has a new look and new features.

The PTA have a large supply of quality senior dresses and some new junior skirts and blazers at reduced prices from Argyle, who are no longer stocking our school uniform.

The Canterbury District Health Board have asked us to share information with you that they are opening a vaccination drive thru at Christchurch Arena (entry off Wrights Road) on 4 October (just in time for the holidays) and no appointment is needed.
