Cell Phones

The Senior Leadership Team and Board of Trustees of Christchurch Girls’ High School, along with our staff, believe mobile device use at school is a factor that contributes towards preventing us from realising our vision. Cell phones put up barriers that work against effective teaching and learning. They also have broader implications for our school environment, the academic and social experiences of our students and the strength and quality of relationships across our kura.

With this in mind, we have a mobile device policy that ensures the school day is protected as a time for our ākonga to engage with teaching and learning and to communicate with each other face-to-face. For your information, the policy is on our website to look at.
