Congratulations to Petra Curd-McCullough and Caitlin Millard on being selected in the New Zealand Secondary Schools' Squash team.

This will be a great opportunity to ask questions and understand more about possibilities of career pathways and NCEA. The evening will be useful for parents and students, especially for those who are new to NZ (from migrant and refugee backgrounds).

This year's Senior Speech Competition involved a line-up of seven talented speakers who covered a range of topics from spoken word poems linked to animal rights and the concept of 'think small', to heartfelt speeches based on forced marriages, foster care and human trafficking, to humorous addresses linked to the Twilight series and climate change.

Hello, in our Year 9 English class we have been studying about refugees and how there are going to be new families coming to live in Christchurch, they all come from war torn countries like Syria, Afghanistan and Eritrea.

Congratulations to Esther Smith (Year 12) who designed the winning logo for this year's annual Christchurch Girls' High School Film Festival, which is taking place early in Term 4.

Last week our Y9 team went to Tūranga to compete in the Canterbury Reader's Cup competition.

Over the past several weeks, the 12ENW English writers' groups have had visits from some well known locally-based writers.
