Health Education: One period per week for the year

Students will develop knowledge and skills to make informed decisions.

The topics covered will contribute to personal well-being and the well-being of others. The topics will be: nutrition, risk analysis, alcohol and drugs education, and sexuality education.

Please be aware that this course has associated costs. By selecting this course you will be requested to make contributions connected to its delivery.

These costs are: $5.00. (to subsidize visitors from Endometriosis New Zealand, Attitude and New Zealand Police).

Physical Education: Two periods per week

Year 10 Physical Education covers a wide range of activities including a focus on group and interpersonal skills in a physical activity context. Some modules develop skills from Year 9 while others offer something new. Modules may include, adventure based learning activities, sports education in team sports, self defence, aerobics, adventure gymnastics, invasion games and net games. The emphasis is on learning and having fun while being active. The expectation is that everyone participates to the best of their ability in all modules. The CGHS PE uniform is compulsory in all lessons.

$25.00 for Self Defence module.

In addition to PE classes many sports are on offer throughout the year as well as morning fitness for anyone who would like to increase their level of physical activity.
