A warm welcome back to Term 2 and the orange setting in the COVID Protection Framework. I hope all students enjoyed the holidays and have returned refreshed for a busy Term 2 with more items able to be back on the school calendar.

Three Christchurch Girls High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora students represented Canterbury in the Taranaki 2022 Eventing Championships over the school holidays.

Congratulations to past student Courtney Comley who is currently studying Economics in her second year at the University of Canterbury.

Monday 22nd August is a Teacher Only Day. School will be closed to allow for a government mandated day around the changes to NCEA.

A huge congratulations to ex Christchurch Girls' High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora rowers (2021) Emily Bowden and Orla Fitzgerald who have been selected to represent New Zealand in the U19 eight and will be competing in Italy at the end of July at the World U19 Championships.

It was a wonderful surprise when late last term Jennifer Lee came to visit, having returned from London to visit her family and perform a piano solo concert at The Piano.

It is with a great deal of sadness that I write to inform the school community of the recent death of one of the stalwarts of the Music Department at Christchurch Girls’ High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora, Neville Forsythe.

Applications close 4pm July 29th 2022 for all out of zone Year 9 2023 applications. We would appreciate as many in zone Year 9 2023 applications by that date to assist with 2023 roll planning.
