Welcome to the Christchurch Girls’ High School Old Girls’ Association. We are a globally based network of former pupils and teachers of Christchurch Girls’ High School (CGHS). Nearly 125 years after being founded, the Association continues to play an important role in the life of Christchurch Girls’ High School/Te Kura o Hine Waiora.

“Friendship and Memory” is a “history of twentieth-century New Zealand from a woman’s perspective, seen through the experience of one organisation – Christchurch Girls’ High School Old Girls’ Association”. This is our history!

Have you been out of touch with CGHS for a while? The CGHS Old Girls Association is a great way to connect with your CGHS friends and the CGHS community. We are always thrilled to welcome new members.

The CGHS Old Girls’ Association loves bringing old girls together so we put on a variety of events each year. We hope to meet you at one of our functions soon!

Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held in May of each year.

The CGHS and the Old Girls’ Association Archives are looked after by the CGHS Librarian/Archivist. The collection includes scanned copies of CGHS school magazines and prospectuses from the year 1900. Enjoy perusing a selection of this wonderful material which offers an insight into the rich history and tradition of CGHS and New Zealand.

Keeping old girls up to date with the latest news about the Association, our branches and old girls is one of our goals.
