The Board of Trustees is very pleased to announce the appointment of our new Principal.

Mr Blair Sheat has accepted the position of Principal at Cheviot Area School, following interviews yesterday.  Blair is currently the Curriculum Leader for Years 1-13 and Assistant Principal at Ao Tawhiti (Unlimited and Discovery schools in Christchurch) where he has built his skills and experiences as an educator, manager and leader.  

Blair is very excited to be coming back into a rural school where connections between the school and community are strong and he believes Area Schools offer a unique place in education in New Zealand.

The Board is delighted that he accepted the position, and we are looking forward to working with Blair.
