During the July School Holidays Cheviot Area School had 10 students represent the Top of the South Island Area Schools at the Area Schools’ National tournament in Whanganui.

The students were:

• Shannon Denton — volleyball and basketball
  
• Riki Pugh — rugby and volleyball
  
• Jonathan Nikolaison — rugby and volleyball
  
• Brody Aldersley — ki orahi and basketball for South of the South Island
  
• Yvonne Mitchell — netball and basketball
  
• Brayden Crown — basketball and ki orahi
  
• Henry Leef — rugby
  
• Jim Fitzgibbon — ki orahi and rugby for South of the South Island
• Emma Maxwell — netball and basketball
  
• Julia Maxwell — netball and basketball
  

All students travelled to Whanganui either by air, land and sea. With many stopping along their travels to visit the sights of the lower North Island. They played through sunshine, rain, hail and sleet.

All the students played all their games extremely well with many of them making South Island Teams. Congratulations to:
