CCHS Athletics Results 2017
Last Wednesday, a team of 22 athletes traveled to Rawhiti Domain in New Brighton to compete in the annual CCHS athletics.
There were a number of standout performances from the group of athletes. Namely Chloe McNabb and Josh Yaloqaqa who won all of their events. Hendrix Taylor was very impressive in the field events. But the athlete of the day was no doubt Finley Forbes who put in a sterling effort in the high jump. The day before the competition, Finley was being taught how to perform the high jump! The next day he was a toenail away from eclipsing a 20 year U19 record. Finley ended up jumping 12cm higher than the second place opponent, having passed the 1.80m mark and just failing at the record mark of 1.84m.
Well done to all of our athletes and to Debbie Fitzgibbon, Robyn Leef and Elspeth Loughan for helping out with transport and to Robyn and E for the Olympic quality measuring and recording of the javelin.
