This term has got to a flying start. The Olympics feature in many classrooms and we have had some old girl success. Well done to Davina Waddy a past pupil of Cheviot Area School (2002-2009). As well as our success on the World Stage, our students are also shining bright.
What's happening in the Secondary School?
Congratulations to Daisy-Mae Jones with her assessment in Equine Studies. Keep up the great work Daisy-Mae!
Cantamaths - Students in Years 5-10 are preparing for the upcoming Cantamaths competition which is to be held on 21st August. We wish them all luck and look forward to seeing the great work that students have been doing in class.
Netball Tournament - The Cheviot Area School Senior netball team will be taking part in the Canterbury Country School Netball tournament on Monday 5th August at the MainPower Stadium in Rangiora.
The tournament included teams from all over Canterbury. It is a great opportunity for our players to experience a tournament, test their skills against other senor teams and represent Cheviot Area School outside of our Hurunui region.
The following players will be attending: Bryce Spiers, Addison Cleaver, Aliza Joslin, Amelia Dewes, Elea Chambers, Jaeli Goss, Maddi Dillon, Maria Steen-Taylor, Melody Te Taua, and Mikayla Spiers.
Thank you to Julia Dickson for volunteering to be our referee, Fiona Bush for coaching the team and Lucy Spencer as our score keeper. Robyn Hall will be attending as team manager and Teacher In Charge.
Do your best and have fun

They have both been recognized for their high achievement in science this year. Well done both of you. This takes place on 21st August.
