The secondary part of our school is smaller than most but look at the amazing experiences and achievements that our students receive.

For two years running now,  our senior students NCEA results have been outstanding. Each one that had NCEA as a goal achieved that goal. A fantastic achievement!

Being a secondary student at Cheviot means that you are incredibly fortunate. As a smaller school, we are able to tailor each students learning so that they have opportunities perfectly suited to their current and future needs. We have worked hard to ensure that all our community is confident in our ability to support our students to achieve their qualification and career goals. Now we have got there.

The New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) report last year  stated that "The achievement progress of individual students is closely monitored and tracked throughout the year. Appropriate adjustments to student assessment plans are made to provide support and interventions, as required. This enables the school to ensure students are achieving, and are meeting personal goals." NZQA MNA Report 2018.

This year students study some subjects taught in classes here at CAS, but many are offered by other organizations that our students do via the internet or by traveling to their site.

These are amazing experiences that all of our students get a chance to be part of. Not just the lucky few like in the bigger schools in town. Our students get more than you would expect!
