Hi, my name is Adele A'Court, I've been living in Cheviot for two years now and I really enjoy the community. I have been involved with the Cheviot Netball Club as president and this is my third season in that role.

On Thursday we sent two teams to play in the first round of the Year 6-8 T20 cricket competition. The girls played at Kaiapoi North school and had a narrow defeat, with the boys being victorious against Amuri.

Cheviot students had a successful day at the recent Hurunui Primary Schools Cross Country held in the Waikari Valley. Those that made it into the top six went on to represent Hurunui at the Canterbury Primary and Intermediate Schools Cross Country at Halswall Quarry last week.

After a mostly successful school cross country, we sent a few of our elite runners to the Hurunui Zone Cross Country 2018 and had great success.
Yesterday the years 9, 10 and 11 students travelled to the Mainpower Stadium for a day of sports against other country high school students.

This year's cross country will take place on Tuesday 17th of May. Welcome, and the briefing starts at 1:30 pm. The first event takes place at 1:35 pm. We ask that all parents and caregivers that attend wear face masks and stay 2 meters distant from those that you don't know.

The year 5-8 boys T20 cricket team won their second round match against Woodend on Monday, and now play West Eyreton in the 3rd round here at Cheviot Area School on Thursday (tomorrow). Play starts on the back field at ~10am so come and support if you can.

23rd May 2018 - Students from years 7-13 competed against Kaikoura High School in a one-day sports exchange.
Due to multiple student absences today and not all students being aware that Long Distance events would be run during lunch time, I have decided to post-pone the long distance events to next Tuesday 24th October during the lunch break - 1.20-2.00pm. Parents are welcome to come and watch! Apologies for the late notice and thank-you for understanding. Thank-you all for your support yesterday, it was a fantastic day!
