Daniel Sun, ex-Chisnallwood student has won the 2017 Todd Corporation Young Composer's Award!

It's been such a pleasure to have had the amazing musicians of the NZSO play my composition "Nga Ariā o Tangaroa" (The Incarnations of Tangaroa). I am so thrilled to have been named winner of the 2017 Todd Corporation Young Composer's Award!

I've had an amazing time yet again and feel so lucky to have met so many other composers each of whose works I've admired and learnt a great deal from.

Daniel was a composer even as a student at Chisnallwood and has gone on to study composition in Wellington after completing high school at Burnside High. He has just won the top award for young composers and had the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra record his composition.
