A message from the Principal

Mike Bonisch —

Shakespearian themes abound at Christ the King at the moment as the Middle and Senior school edge ever closer to the big day with the show, Shakespeare Rocks.

We are staging two live shows on 6 September with a matinee show and an evening performance. This Middle/Senior School production is being held at the Villa Maria Auditorium as the Aurora Centre was unable.

Holding a matinee show is something new for Christ the King and we are not really sure how it will be received. For this reason, we are enlisting your help with the matinee performance and hope you will sell it to grandparents and younger families so both shows are well subscribed.

A major production such as this requires a great deal of financial support to cover costs such as sound equipment and technicians, costuming, venue hire and a myriad of other costs. With this in mind we have set ticket prices at adults  $10 and children $5.

The Year 7 and 8 students are busy with Cantamaths activities, and the children's work is on display in the hall today. Some of the thinking behind their entries is very complex and original, and the students will be hoping for the same level of success that we have experienced in previous years.

Thanks for your cooperation with the gumboots on Monday morning. We had experienced a lot of overnight rain and the surface flooding was quite extensive. Our new drains handled our historical problem area but we still have a few places where water backs up when the grounds become water logged.
