Last Thursday, the children in Room 3 had the opportunity to meet 20 Japanese students from Sonoda High School, Amagasaki City (near Kobe City).

They were in Christchurch visiting their sister school, Villa Maria College, and had expressed an interest in learning more about a local primary school. This visit was co-ordinated by Nicola McCormick who works at Villa Maria College and has a son, Ronan, in Room 3.

The Sonoda High School students spent the afternoon at Christ the King, and shared interesting information about their culture, as well as performing a special song and dance for the children. They also presented Room 3 with a Japanese story book. The entire experience was unique and exciting for the children. They enjoyed the opportunity to learn more about Japanese culture and share information about themselves and our school.
