National Young Leaders Day 2025 – Celebrating 25 Years!
On Wednesday, 15th May, our Year 7 & 8 students attended National Young Leaders Day (NYLD) at the Christchurch Town Hall — one of Aotearoa’s largest and longest-running leadership events for primary and intermediate students.
This year marked a special milestone as NYLD celebrated 25 years of inspiring young leaders, with the empowering theme:
"Stronger Together"
Since 2001, NYLD has motivated over 130,000 students to lead with confidence, kindness, and courage. The event focuses on:
Inspiration
Connection
Empowerment
Positivity
Motivation
Education
The day was filled with high-energy music, engaging speakers, and loads of fun. Our students returned feeling motivated and ready to lead in their own unique ways.
The students were privileged to hear from an incredible lineup of speakers:
Cam Calkoen – Adventurer and inspirational speaker, showing how challenges can become stepping stones to greatness.
Georgia Lines – Award-winning singer-songwriter known for her emotional depth and powerful voice.
Elisa Harley – 18-year-old CEO of Enivo Pots, leading the way in sustainability and innovation.
Jase Te Patu – Wellbeing advocate and international keynote speaker sharing tools for mindful, values-based leadership grounded in mātauranga Māori.
A huge thank you to Mrs Greenslade, Miss Smith, and Miss Sherry for accompanying our students and making this experience possible!
