Recount of National Young Leaders Day

Macy Bennet and Denver Williams —

On the 30 May the Year Eight leaders were privileged enough to go to National Young Leaders’ Day.

We were spoken to by some very inspiring speakers such as Amanda Wilson, Jono Naylor, Riley Hathaway, Sala and Vince Harder. All spoke about the different ways to become great leaders and the challenges that we might face.
Some advice we received was to be yourself, believe in yourself, always be confident, be humble in victory and defeat, and everyone doing a little can achieve a lot. The main focus of this year’s National Young Leaders’ Day was weaving people together. This is one of the most important responsibilities of a leader.
All of the Year Eight leaders left feeling confident, excited and over all, inspired. National Young Leaders’ Day is an experience we will never forget. Now we can show all of the virtues and skills a leader needs in their everyday lives.

Me whakaaro rangatira. Think like a leader.
