Next Wednesday 14th February we will begin the season of Lent with Ash Wednesday celebrations. You will notice that the Alleluia and the Gloria are alway omitted during the Mass in Lent. Lent is a season of repentance and conversion. The season lasts for 40 days and the liturgical colour used in predominantly violet, reminding us of the blood shed by Jesus during His Passion and Death.
