Congratulations

During Term 1 the Senior Syndicate were involved in a competition called 'Green Bags.'

It was a competition that was run as part of a campaign to get rid of plastic bags and create an awareness of the damage they cause to our environment.

Students designed an image they wanted to see on the front of a reusable bag and wrote a short blurb promoting their image.

It was open to anyone in New Zealand. This included children, adults and professional artists. There were 5 winners in this competition who had their personal design printed on five of their own bags.

20 Senior Students entered.

Our congratulations goes to Irish Faderagao who won the ‘Judge’s Choice’ award. Below is her promotional blurb.

Whale – by Irish F from Christ King School

My bag design is about marine life, the reason I designed this was the news article about a whale with over 200 plastic bags in it's stomach. I did this design about saving marine life because people dump their rubbish in the worst places and animals swallow it. Some marine life are nearly extinct because of plastic bags.
