PCT Challenge 2025!

Two teams proudly represented Christ the King at the annual Blue Light PCT (Police Competency Test) Challenge at Cowles Stadium on Monday 10th March.

The course, designed to assess the strength, agility, and teamwork of police officers, put our students to the test as they tackled a series of challenging obstacles.

Our teams put in an outstanding effort, finishing 14th and 23rd respectively out of more than 80 schools across Canterbury! While they didn’t place in the top three, they had an action-packed day, giving it their all and showcasing incredible perseverance.

Congratulations to Chaelsa, who received a spot prize for being one of the fastest girls on the day, reaching an impressive speed of 27km/h!

Thank you to Mr Hopkins and Miss Sherry for organising this fantastic opportunity, and to the parents who helped with transport.

Ash Wednesday Liturgy

Last Wednesday, we came together as a school community for our Ash Wednesday liturgy, led by Monsignor Rick.

As we received the ashes on our foreheads, we were reminded that Lent is a time for reflection, renewal, and drawing closer to God.

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of our Lenten journey, a season where we are called to pray, fast, and show kindness to others. The ashes are a sign of humility, reminding us to turn our hearts toward God and live with love, compassion, and forgiveness.

Throughout Lent, we are invited to think about how we can grow in faith, make small sacrifices, and be a light to those around us. Whether through prayer, helping others, or making thoughtful choices, each step brings us closer to Jesus.

May this Lenten season be a time of growth, grace, and renewal for us all.
