Celebrating Martha and Gus – Our Principals for the Day!
They did a fantastic job leading our school and making sure our early St Patrick’s Day celebration was one to remember.
Students arrived dressed in green, orange, and white, bringing a vibrant energy to the day. The morning began with a thoughtful Lenten and Caritas assembly led by Room 10. Thank you for guiding us in prayer and reflection. We also celebrated student achievements with certificates, prize draws, and our much-loved ‘What’s in the Bag?’ challenge.
Our acting principals took their duties seriously, ensuring everything ran smoothly before heading off to Kmart for a special shopping trip to select prizes for the best-dressed students. Along the way, they took time to connect with students, check in on classrooms, and enjoy a well-earned morning tea.
A huge thank you to our Parent Council for providing a delicious sausage sizzle lunch, keeping everyone fuelled for an action-packed afternoon ahead!
One of the biggest highlights of the day was the incredible success of ‘Target the Staff – A Can for a Sponge!’. With over 1,180 cans donated to St Vincent de Paul, our school community once again showed its generosity in action.
House Competitions and Afternoon Fun!
The afternoon was filled with house competitions and games, with students showing outstanding team spirit, enthusiasm, and a touch of friendly rivalry! A special thank you to Miss Sherry and our Year 8 leaders for organising such engaging activities—the students had an absolute blast!
The sponge throw continued into the afternoon, much to the delight of our students, who took great aim at our brave (and slightly soggy!) staff members. The day ended on a sweet note, with every student enjoying a well-earned ice block to cool off after an exciting day.
A huge thank you to Martha and Gus for stepping up as Principals for the Day and making this event so special.
