From the Principal's Desk

Tēnā koutou e te whānau – Greetings, family and friends! It's hard to believe we are already heading into Week 7 of Term 1, 2025.

Friday was a very special day at Christ the King as we celebrated Principal for the Day with Martha and Gus. It was a time of fun and celebration.

But it was also a moment to reflect and remember. We take the time to remember the tragic events of the Christchurch mosque attacks, which occurred six years ago and forever changed our community and our nation.

We stand in solidarity with those affected by this act of violence and continue to honour the lives lost and the resilience of the survivors.

As a school, we are committed to fostering a culture of kindness, respect, and inclusivity, where all individuals are valued and safe.

Let us never forget the importance of compassion and unity, and may we continue to work towards building a world where peace and understanding prevail.

Celebrating Our Academic Success

At our recent Board meeting on Wednesday 12th March, we shared our 2024 Academic Achievement data, highlighting the outstanding progress our students have made in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics.

We are proud to report that the vast majority of our students are meeting or exceeding expectations, reflecting the strength of our teaching and learning programmes.

Whole School Achievement Data:

  • Mathematics: 95% of students are achieving at or beyond expectations.

  • Reading: 90% of students are achieving at or beyond expectations.

  • Writing: 85% of students are achieving at or beyond expectations.

These results are a testament to the dedication of our students, the expertise of our teaching staff, and the ongoing support from you, our families.

We also want to acknowledge the significant time and energy our teaching and support staff have invested into our programmes in 2024, ensuring that every student receives the support they need to thrive.

Our focus on providing high-quality learning experiences, differentiated instruction, and targeted interventions ensures that every student has the opportunity to succeed.

We are incredibly proud of these achievements and remain committed to fostering a learning environment where all students can thrive.

Thank you for your continued support as we strive for excellence at Christ the King School.

I hope you all have had a lovely weekend!

Principal
