Academic Programmes
Learning Programmes are designed to be relevant, challenging and engaging. A range of class types, including accelerated and full inquiry based programmes, are available to suit the needs of all students.
ESOL Programme
Highly qualified, experienced and caring staff offer a comprehensive ESOL Programme which is available to all international students. The students are assessed on arrival and placed in programmes to cater for all levels of English. Innovative, exciting and challenging programmes for individuals and small groups are designed to support and meet the learning needs of international students.
Pastoral Care Support
Cobham Intermediate places great emphasis on the happiness, wellbeing and achievements of our international students.
We have excellent systems in place to support students in their learning and personal development. Teachers and students in our multicultural school are welcoming, friendly and inclusive. All students are actively encouraged to become involved in the wider school community through the many sporting, cultural and social events offered.

Subject Highlights: Cobham Intermediate follows the New Zealand Curriculum with a focus on developing high level knowledge and thinking skills in mathematics, literacy, science and technology.

Sport Highlights: Success in the full spectrum of sporting pursuits is a key feature of Cobham. Sports include basketball, badminton, cricket, hockey, netball, rugby, table tennis, volleyball and water polo.

Cultural Highlights: Cobham Intermediate is highly regarded for offering high quality music and performing arts programmes including orchestra, chamber orchestra, choir, chorale, rock band, ukulele orchestra, Kapa Haka cultural group and a variety of dance groups. Students are encouraged to learn a musical instrument such as violin, flute, clarinet, piano, keyboard, drums or guitar. We also have chess club and robotics.

Other Unique Highlights: We offer a comprehensive ESOL Programme for international students. Pastoral care and first language support is available for students and their families.

Special Features: The Science and Technology Centre with specialist teachers in Science, Food, Fabric, Wood and Hard Materials (metal and plastic) offer unique and varied curriculum based experiences in small classes. Short term programmes and group programmes are offered to suit a variety of needs.
