Cashmere High School is a co-educational state secondary school that welcomes international students. The school is well known for academic excellence and its visual arts and music programmes. On offer is a broad range of subjects, an Intensive English programme, an outdoor education programme and a wide variety of sporting and extracurricular opportunities.

SPECIAL FEATURES

Cashmere High School has a very impressive visual arts programme, a high number of students in Year 9 and 10 will take art as an option and in Years 12 and 13 students can specify art design, art painting, art photography and art print making. A high number of our students achieve excellence in this area and go on to tertiary study in fine arts, design, animation, graphics and photography.
At Cashmere we offer an Intensive English Programme of up to 10 hours per week of ESOL for those students without the level of English required to meet our mainstream requirements. Students in the Intensive Programme will study English and ESOL science with option classes that include visual and performing arts, digital technologies, hospitality, multi material technology, environmental science and mathematics.

Subject Highlights: Intensive Enghlish Programme (up to 10 hours)

Languages Offered: Japanese, French, Spanish, Te Reo Maori

Sport Highlights: Canterbury Championship winners in Football, Futsal, Athletics, Mountain Biking, Softball, Swimming, Rowing and Fencing.

Cultural Highlights: Winners of Rockquest and Theatresports competitions.

Other Unique Highlights: Outstanding results in Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), NZ Future Problem Solving Award Winner, High Achievement in the ICAS Awards
