New English Language School for the Central City

Stefi Porter —

Christchurch welcomes a new English Language school to the Central City. Based at 76 Peterborough Street The “NTA English Academy” has been New Zealand owned and operated since 2000.

Originally a Land Based Educational Institute NTA started English language programmes in 2009 but on a small group scale for students needing English for their vocational programmes, diversifying into English Plus Programmes such as the popular English Plus Horse Riding programme. With its own Riding School, Farm Park and Garden nursery the opportunities for adding value to the English programmes grew over the years.

In 2018 the directors decided that the Central City was where the growth would be as Christchurch developed into a modern and exciting place to study with employment opportunities for students with work rights. Being a “Category One” Educational Institute provides the platform for students studying English and seeking an opportunity to work to enhance their English skills as well as earning some extra income.

In February 2019 the “NTA English Academy” was formed and started its first programme and the formal opening was held on Friday 28th June attended by Christchurch Education Agents, Business partners, International High School Directors, Members of Education NZ, students and staff alike. All were impressed by the modern, open space feel of the new facilities.

The NTA English Academy will offer; General English at all levels; our English “Plus” programmes; After High School English programmes and IELTS or PTE preparation.
As an Educational Institute used to hosting International students NTA has a wide range of Education Agents around the world including South America, China and South East Asia, to provide a diverse range of students studying English.

The NTA English Academy welcomes Education Agents and potential students to visit our new premises said the Managing Director, Craig Musson.
