As we continue to serve those caught in poverty and injustice in the world, we are also constantly striving to optimise stewardship of the donations we receive from our supporters.

We have been restructuring in the last few years to "trim the cloth" (do more with less) while boosting our impact. Almost 70% of all income to CWS comes from individual donations to our seasonal, Christmas and emergency appeals and many who wonderfully commit to making regular donations.

As we continue the process of trimming operational costs, we are further adjusting our energies to achieve an ever-greater percentage of funds raised to be available to serve the life-lifting work of our international partners.

As part of this, we have refreshed several longstanding partnerships, with some now concluding. This reflects our commitment to support global partners until they have grown their capacity to no longer need our assistance.

Partners past and future

It also positions us to pursue new partnerships where we see strong potential for meaningful aid and development impact.

Launching relationships with new partners does come with a slightly increased cost initially but that cost reduces proportionally once a new partnership is underway.

CWS support our partners with the intent to stay the course with them over the time they need to establish themselves sustainably. However, having formed robust relationships with our partners often over many years, when the time comes for our funding support of them to end, that does not mean the end of the relationship. Those partners are our neighbours. In keeping with Christ's directive, they remain our closest neighbours always and so we maintain a watching brief over them in case they may need our support again.
