As we continue to support our partner Developers in the Philippines, their latest report highlights what has been achieved with the donations from CWS supporters over the years.

In the context of the theme of preparedness in this newsletter, the Developers team, who reported on many successful outcomes for the communities that they serve in the Tabon district, were asked “was the project aimed towards advancing climate action or disaster risk reduction? If so, how has this been achieved?”

Their report shows that their LIFE (Livelihood, Food, and Environment) Project contributed to climate action and disaster risk reduction both directly and indirectly.

Through environmental measures—such as mangrove conservation, proper waste management, and sustainable family food gardens—the project helped strengthen the island’s natural resilience against climate-related hazards, including coastal erosion and flooding.

In addition, the Developers team have integrated disaster risk reduction (DRR) priorities into its budget, ensuring the allocation of resources for emergency equipment, quick response measures, and preparedness initiatives.

By combining environmental stewardship with local DRR planning, the project supports a proactive approach to climate adaptation, reduces vulnerabilities, and enhances the community’s capacity to respond effectively to emergencies.
