Iran: War Again!

CWS - keeping a close watch on Iran.

Mal Sproull —

As yet another invasion of a Middle East country occurs, Christian World Service is on standby!

Standing with and praying for communities caught in the crossfire

Christian World Service is concerned for communities affected by the recent invasion of Iran, especially those already struggling with poverty and limited resources. As is so often the case, reports indicate that families with the least means face the greatest risks and challenges accessing essentials like food, water, and medical care.

ACT Alliance (of which CWS is a member) does have long‑standing partners operating in countries that border Iran, and several of these organisations routinely report on regional instability, humanitarian pressures, and the spillover effects on civilians. This proximity gives them visibility on what is unfolding for ordinary Iranians. Through their eyes, Christian World Service is maintaining a close watch.

By any means we can, CWS calls for all parties to respect humanitarian law, protect civilians, and enable emergency aid access. We urge restraint and dialogue to prevent further harm. And we urge constant prayer for peace in the region. Together with the ACT Alliance General Secretary, Rudelmar Bueno de Faria, we appeal for:

  • Renewed commitment to diplomatic processes that offer real prospects for a just and lasting peace.

  • The protection of civilians, whose rights, dignity and safety must not be collateral damage.

  • An investment in locally led humanitarian responses in the region, who are rooted within the communities.

As soon as possible we hope to update CWS supporters with feedback from our ACT Alliance partners. Even in this waring climate of uncertainty, our priority remains supporting those most vulnerable and affected and working toward lasting peace and prosperity for all Iranians.
