Te Wiki o te Reo Māori

Clearview —

As part of Te wiki o te reo Māori last week, our two kapa haka rōpu had the privilege to showcase their mahi in front of the school and their whānau.

Tāwhirimātea came to the party with his north west winds but he couldn’t drown out the waiata and haka from Karrie Bryce’s junior rōpu and our senior rōpu tutored by Matua Anton McLean. It was a great chance to see the school coming together for kai and music.

Ngā mihi mahana to the whānau of our kapa haka tamariki that were able to take time to come and support them.

Other activities and learning involving te reo and tikanga took place in homebases during this week. This included Te Wā, or moment, where nearly a million people throughout Aotearoa were involved in keeping te reo alive. Clearview was there representing! We hope this inspires the tamariki to kōrero little and often.

Kia kaha te reo Maori!
