We have a team of National Champions and I couldn't be prouder of them.  Last weekend, our Tournaments of Mind Team traveled to Wellington to compete in the New Zealand Tournaments of Mind Final against the best of the best from around the regions of Aotearoa NZ........and  they won!

This was the first year that Clearview have entered a team into this competition and they did remarkably well.  Congratulations to Lucca Greenwood, Michelle Yang, Matthew Hunter,  Tyler Keen,  Owen Brown, Samuel Halligan, Dannielle Fitzgerald what an amazing achievement!  Thanks also to Mrs Prior and Miss McDermott for their leadership and co-ordination of the team.  They spent countless hours preparing the team for this competition and organising the logistics of travel.  Thanks also to the parents who supported the children from both in Wellington and from back here in Rolleston.

Staffing News:

It's with a great deal of sadness to advise everyone that at the end of this term, our beloved Property Manager Mr Ricky Hofmeester will be finishing up at Clearview.  Ricky has been fighting ill health for a number of months now and he has reluctantly decided to resign.

Ricky has been a crucial member of the Clearview family who has worked hard maintaining our grounds and buildings for nearly a decade.  He has always been involved in the life of our school by taking sports teams and even coaching Jump Jam.  He is a jack of all trades and has been a pleasure to work with.  Ricky will pop in to say hello from time to time, but in the meantime, we are lucky to have Tracey Trillo who will assume the role of acting Property Manager while we advertise and appoint a new person.

In our last newsletter, I alerted parents to our 2020 Student Placement Procedure and invited you to make contact in writing with your child's current Team Leader if there was anything you wanted them to consider when organising HBs for next year.  Please remember that we will be accepting this information up until the end of Week 1 of Term 4, Friday 18th October.  From that point onwards, teachers will be working on student HB placements for 2020.  It's much easier to know in advance if there is anything that needs to be considered.  Thanks!

Finally - I wanted to express my gratitude to you all for your ongoing support of our school and wish you a safe and relaxing holiday break.  Take care and I look forward to seeing everyone back for the final term.

Nga mihi nui
