Active Selwyn Starts Next Week - WoW Challenge

Clearview —

Active Selwyn is an initiative by the Selwyn District Council - this is kicking off again next week and will run for 4 weeks, finishing at the end of Week 5 which is Road Safety Week. This campaign is designed to maintain the enthusiasm for families that are currently using active modes and to encourage those that need some motivation to get moving. The benefits of getting our school community involved are measurable in terms of congestion reduction at the school gate as well as physical and mental wellbeing in our learners.

What’s in the campaign this year:

· Walk or Wheels (WoW) Challenge

Simply choose an active mode of transport to school (walk, run, scooter, skateboard or bike).  The same format as last year will run for entry with ten days of active travel earning an entry into the draw. By receiving 10 stamps a Clearview student could win an MGB Scooter and helmet.

Design your own helmet competition

You could win a bike helmet with your own design.  There are 4 age categories with a prize of a helmet per category.  Entries will be judged by Selwyn Mayor Sam Broughton.  Entries will close on Thursday 16 November.

From Monday next week, our Competency Captains will be in the playground (central courtyard of school) from 8:30am - 9:00am, ready to stamp cards. Once students have received 10 stamps on their card, they will then deposit their card into the box in the office.

Good luck and get active!
