Message from the Principal

Rob Rush —

Dear Parents / Caregivers / Whanau

As term 2 draws to a close tomorrow afternoon, we will be bidding farewell to three amazing teachers who we will miss dearly.  Miss Anita van Looy, the teacher in HB13 (and Engage Team Leader) is relocating to Wanaka where she will be taking up a new position at the new (soon to be built) primary school down there.  Also departing Clearview for new and exciting adventures is HB 12 teacher Mrs Alice McKessar who is traveling abroad to teach in the Middle East (Saudi Arabia).

Both Anita and Alice have been valued teachers for the past 5-6 years and they have contributed so much to the life of Clearview throughout this time.  We wish them all the very best and hope to stay in contact with them both.

Also, finishing up tomorrow is Mrs Mel Upperton  (HB3 Teacher) who will be taking Maternity Leave for a year to have her third child so exciting times ahead for her and her family.    We will certainly miss Mel's bright and outgoing nature around the staffroom and look forward to her return next year.

This means that we will have some new faces on the team from the beginning of Term 3.  As announced in an earlier newsletter, Miss Lisa Barr and Miss Valerie Humrich will join the Engage Team and I'm thrilled to announce that Mrs Emma Brown and Mrs Jess Hey will teach in HB3 as a job share.

We are really lucky to have been able to appoint such high-quality staff to Clearview, especially at this stage of the year, when staff can be very difficult to find.

You will see a separate article in this week's newsletter detailing a MINOR AMENDMENT to our school Enrolment Zone.  Currently, the boundary between Clearview and Lemonwood Grove School is not defined within the Falcon's Landing subdivision.  With such rapid growth happening within this area, both schools have worked together to agree upon the enrolment zone boundary.

This amendment will take effect on 5th August 2019.    To find out more, you can view the article in this newsletter.

This afternoon, a General Comment for your child will be 'posted' on LINC-ED for you to read.  Also, we are releasing a Writing Progression which will detail how your child is achieving and progressing in regards to Writing.  To view these online reports, you will need to log into your LINC-ED Parent Account.

(NB:  Reading and Mathematics Progressions will be available by the end of Term 3)

Early next Term on 31 July and 01 August, we have Learning Conferences scheduled for you to book a time to meet with your child's teacher to discuss the progress of your child.  Look out for an email that will have more details about this and with a link to the booking system.

Thanks for your continued support and I look forward to seeing you and the children again when we start back on Monday 22 July.  Enjoy the holiday break and take care.

Nga mihi nui
