Message from the Principal
Kia ora e te whānau / Greetings Clearview families
I hope you managed to have some precious time off and quality time with your family over the Easter break.
We ended last week with a successful Art Exhibition, held in the hall. There were close to 800 exhibits on display and such a wide variety to enjoy. From paintings to sculptures and everything in between, the quality of what was on show was phenomenal. It is clear that we have some talented artists at Te Kura O Mārama / Clearview Primary and this event was a great opportunity for them to shine.
There was a steady flow of visitors to the hall while this Art Exhibition was on and the vote count was high. We received 220 electronic votes and a further 200 paper votes and it's taken us some time to work through to identify our winners. We also had a professional artist, Kyla Rofe, visit to view the artwork and she has selected her top 10 (from Year 1-8). She also selected a supreme (overall) winner.
Thank you so much to all of our teachers and students who worked hard to produce such high quality. The standard of art on display was very high, produced by all ages and teams across our school. Well done to you all. Also, a huge thanks to Elyse and Rohan Guise and Christina Buckland for your help organising this event.
From here, we plan to confirm the top 20 pieces of artwork, then we will make contact with each student and their parents to get their permission to auction the artwork at a school fundraiser event on Thursday 23rd May. We will professionally display each piece of artwork and all funds raised from the auction event will go towards the purchase of a new piece of visual art for our school to display in the playground. More information about this is included in a separate article in today's newsletter.
Thanks and enjoy the rest of your week.
Ngā mihi nui
