Quest Team at Living Springs Camp

Early this year in May, Team Quest went to Living Springs.

We had many activities to keep us entertained and delicious food to keep us going. We learned how to work together as a team to solve problems and clear obstacles.

Here’s a recount of how it all went.

Living Springs, a 40-minute drive from Clearview Primary School. The bus ride stopped about two km from the camp where we had to walk around the harbour then up the steep hill to the beautiful camp. We stopped once to eat lunch near a small farm then continued. Finally, we reached the top of the hill also the camp. The camp hosted a stunning view. Already we could see we were going to have a great time. It didn’t take long for the fun to begin.

The bus we had traveled on before the walk was waiting for us at camp. We collected our bags then ventured into the camp to find our cabins. As we soon found out the camp was quite large. After unpacking and settling in, we moved into the auditorium for a briefing on the camp. They told us about the activities we would be doing today.

During the briefing, the camp host said that we would be in groups for the activities. Since it was only 3:00 pm we split into our groups. Group 1-4 on orienteering group 5-7 recreation. Groups 1-4 went first. Groups 5-7 started on recreation around the camp. Now onto orienteering, we made groups of four and went out with a sheet of paper that had the station marks on it, a pencil and a map of Living Springs camp. There were 12 stations to find hidden around the camp. Not all the groups found all the stations. But a few did.

The top four favourite camp activities were air rifles, archery, rock climbing, and orienteering. We all learned to build our team skills and strength.

The year 5 and 6 camp was enjoyed by all and rated by most students an 8/10 (the other group of kids gave it a 9/10 😉) the camp was a success. We can’t wait for next year's camp!
