Sports @ Clearview

Clearview —

We are almost at the end of another busy term and it’s been great to see so many students out playing sport for CV or having some great homebase lessons.

A special thanks to Kate Lloyd from the Selwyn Sports Trust who has been coming into some of our home bases passing on her skills and love for all things sport.

Cross Country was a fantastic day out, actually it was really cold and the rain only just held off but your children were amazing. A huge congratulations to all those students who showed up and gave it their all. We had some great results at Zones with 10 of our students heading off to Canterbury’s.

Our Monday night basketball teams are well underway in the Selwyn Hawks competition. The club is still looking for refs (who they pay) so if you have a teenager at home who is a great basketball player send them along to inquire about referring on a Monday night.

A big thank you to all our parent volunteers who are taking care of the 10 teams across the years 5-8 levels. We really really couldn’t do it without you.

Zone Basketball was held on Friday 26th May. We had four teams who played their hearts out all day long! Congratulations to the Year ⅞ Boys who came third equal. Thank you to all the coaches, managers, supporters and referees who made this day possible.

Football and Hockey are coming up and if your child has gained a spot in the team you will already know. We are also taking students to Foster Park on the same day for a Fun Competition. There will be more details to follow about this, so please watch out on Facebook for more information.

Entries are now in for the Gymnastics. We are really looking forward to hearing all about their successes and hopefully some photos too.

Our first three weeks of Sports Spectactular have been held and what a fantastic opportunity it is for our students to participate in. So many great providers offering our students a chance to try a new sport. We look forward to the last few weeks of these activities.

See you on the sideline
